Breaking down the Star Wars VR games

May the force be with you

It’s quite sexy to imagine the upheaval of Star Wars over the past couple of years. Star Wars continues to get better — as TV series of Star Wars have constantly shined. We’ve been blessed with “The Mandalorian”, “Andor”, “Ahsoka”, “The Book of Boba Fett”, “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, and more!

With that. said, it’s very likely that Star Wars material can improve. I’m not talking about the exhibit at Disney land. Rather, I’m talking about the combination of the real-life experience through virtual reality & Star Wars. So, is there Star Wars in VR?

The answer to the prior question is a resounding yes!

There are numerous VR Star Wars games! There are “Tales From The Galaxy Edge”, “Vader Immortal”, and “Star Wars: Pinball”! Vader Immortal was released in late November of 2019. “Tales From The Galaxy Edge” was released in mid-November of 2020! “Star Wars: Pinball” was released in late April of 2023! There is also “Star Wars Squadrons”.

There are three episodes of Vader Immortal. The first episode is about 50 minutes in length. As expected, the graphics in Vader Immortal outdo the graphics in the other Star Wars games. The user is a smuggler who comes face-to-face with Vader. It’s exciting that the user can practice lightsaber skills to prepare for showdowns with Vader. Meta store has given the game an impressive 4.3/5 stars.

Tales From Galaxy Edge is a first-person shooting game. You’re attacked by pirates and you quickly must fight to survive alongside classic Star Wars characters. However, in one of the reviews, they said the standard quests get boring. Overall, 91% of Google users like the game. Meta Store hands the game a 4/5 review.

The odd-ball Star Wars game is undoubted “Star Wars: Pinball”! The user is playing on a virtual pinball machine in an arcade room! The game can get addicting, but the lack of movement may get tiresome. 4.2/5 stars from the Meta store were given to the game. However, Steam gave the game a terrible 5/10 stars! Star Wars: Squadron features a user as a pilot in the middle of the action in space! has mixed reviews, to say the least. It has incredible Reddit reviews, but Steam only has given it a 6/10.

The four games all stand out from one another. With that said, I would rank Tales From Galaxy Edge as the first Star Wars game I’d like to play and then Vader Immortal as the second Star Wars VR game I’d like to engage in. I don’t love flying or a plethora of bad reviews on a game, so Squadron is the third game I’d like to try. All in all, I beg you to branch out with the beautiful Star Wars franchise on the authentic VR system. In conclusion – may the force be with you.
