5 things we know about Star Wars: Starfighter

Star Wars: Starfighter is on the horizon

By: Jake Rajala

The next Star Wars film is bound to be called “Star Wars: Starfighter”. It will be released on May 28th of 2027. Posters and previews for the Star Wars flick are around the corner. With that said, I’m going to lay out five things we should know about the film.

  • Shawn Levy

Shawn Levy, who is a Canadian-American, has the keys to the operation. He is the director. Some of his other works are “Stranger Things”, “Deadpool and Wolverine”, “Night at the Museum”, and “Free Guy”. It’s safe to say that he doesn’t miss. Don’t expect this film to be as atrocious as “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”.

  • Ryan Gosling

If Ryan Gosling can shine in Blade Runner: 2049, he will fit just right in with this project. We’ve seen many A-list actors who have made showcases in the franchise. Jack Black and Jude Law are people that come to mind.

  • Claudio Miranda

Star Wars fans are in luck. One of the best in the visual effects is Claudio Miranda, and he will have his hands on this project. He previously worked on “Life of Pi”, “Oblivion”, and “Top Gun: Maverick”. Clearly, he’s a very gifted mind. My favorite film of his has to be “Life of Pi”.

  • Rey

Rey is rumored to be in the fiilm as a Jedi mentor. She may be establishing a Jedi Academy in the movie. It’s nearly a standalone film, but having Rey in that role will not make it such. It will be 15 years after the “Rise of Skywalker”.

  • Villains

Matt Smith and Mia Goth will be the villains in the movie. Matt Smith was recently in “The House of the Dragon”. He is also in “Doctor Who”. Meanwhile, Mia Goth is nothing short of spectacular. She was in “Frankenstein” and she will be in “The Odyssey”. I like these actors more than Adam Driver, I must admit.

As shown, this will ber very unique. It will be special to see a lot of new faces, as we’ve been given many of the same actors over the past few films. At the same time, there will be a little bit of risk involved, given many are thrown into the mix together for the first time.

Lucas Museum of Narrative Art

The Lucas Museum is coming soon

By: Jake Rajala

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art will be a beautiful addition to Los Angeles. It is bound to be revealed in September 22 of 2026. That date also just happens to be my birthday. Unfortunately, I live in Michigan, so I don’t know if I can make the trip.

So, where will the art museum be located? Well, it will be showcased at Los Angeles Exposition Park. Lucas, who is the mind behind Star Wars, and his wife, Mellody Hobson, are the creative minds behind the museum. The museum costs 1 billion dollars. It looks quite futuristic. It sort of looks like a spaceship, too.

It’s fitting to have the museum in Los Angeles, as there have been Star Wars scenes in Cali. Death Valley (used for Tatooine), Redwoods, and Imperial Sand Dunes, are recognized as superb locations in our nation’s most populated state.

The museum won’t be the only thing to honor Star Wars in California. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland Park will open May 31st of 2019. It can’t come soon enough. Of course, Disney World has a prominent piece of Star Wars heaven via a spaceship.

Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back is regonized as the sixth best films by IMDb of all time. The movies ahead of the Star Wars film is “The Godfather”, “The Lord of The Ring: The Return of the King”, “The Matrix”, and Pirates of The Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest”.

We all know that “Star Wars: Starfighter” will be released in 2027. Ryan Gosling will be a new addition to the Star Wars sphere. If Marvel can constantly add new, A-list actors, why can’t Star Wars?

Oscar Isaac has beef with Star Wars

Oscar Isaac’s outlook

By: Jake Rajala

The versatile actor, Oscar Isaac, is one of the finest actors in the business. He is well known for being showcased in the mythical franchise: Star Wars. He is known as “Poe Dameron”. He is a pilot for the resistance. Poe escapes with “Fin” early from the First Order.

Oscar is also in X-Men, Ex Machina, Dune, and many more top-tier films.

With that enunciated, the spotlight has been on him. Oscar wasn’t a fan of Disney taking Jimmy Kimmel off the comedy scene. He made a response about whether he would return to Star Wars.

He said, “Yeah. I mean. I’d be open to it, although right now, I’m not so open to working with Disney. But if they can kind of figure out and, you know, not succumb to fascism, that would be great … if that happens, then yeah, I’d be open to having a conversation about a galaxy far away. Or any number of other things.”

Oscar isn’t the first character to be upset with Star Wars over the company not supporting freedom of speech. Gina Carano was tweeting about how republicans are treated is similar to Jews in the holocaust. She also has made tweets about conspiracy theories. Star Wars is arguably the coolest franchise, but they can be like a helicopter parent at times. I’d like to see more opinions on whether they should limit free speech from prominent figures.

Oscar should return to Star Wars. He had a key role in “The Force Awakens” and “The Last Jedi” and the ratings were superb. He had a minor role in “The Rise of Skywalker” and the film was torn apart. I’d like to see him have a “Top Gun moment”. I’d love to see him save someone and then get saved himself.

Where was Planet Hoth filmed?

Where was Hoth filmed?

By: Jake Rajala

George Lucas’s baby, Star Wars, is a diverse and beautiful franchise. They check these boxes in large part to having impressive locations. One of the locations in “Empire Strikes Back”, which is arguably the best Star Wars film, is Planet Hoth. We all remember AT-AT Walkers on the frozen ground, as they shoot at the rebel base. Even Luke Skywalker was attacked by a yeti-like creature. Thankfully, Han Solo saved his life.

The question is: where was Hoth filmed?

Well, it was filmed in none other than Norway. Norway, similar to Sweden and Finland, is quite beautiful. To be more specific, it was shot in Finse. So, a fascinating question is: What is the population of Finse? Is is it a hundred thousand? Surely, it must be very popular after the movie. Well, the population is 10-30 people! Yes, you read that correctly. It is home to a railway and a hotel.

The setting reminds me of my hometown. I live in Houghton, Michigan. It’s freezing in the winter, yet it still has very attractive outdoors. The only drawback is that it gets dark out too soon in the day.

It’s safe to say that the Star Wars heads were thinking outside the box with their decision to shoot it in a freezing section of Norway. Besides North Korea and a few other areas, there isn’t a portion of Earth that is crossed off their list.

I hope that Star Wars goes full circle and has another movie including Norway again. After all, they won’t have competition (besides potentially Family Guy) in the location.

Boba Fett’s Blaster on Sale

Boba Fett’s blaster is quite popular

By: Jake Rajala

The mythical Star Wars character, Boba Fett, is not arguably one of the coolest bounty hunters. He might just be one of the coolest characters. He is the son of Jango Fett. He witnessed his father (Jango) killed by Mace Windu, who is one of the most popular jedis. He watched the murder in cold blood.

With that enunciated, something fascinating has popped up in the Boba Fett world. The blaster (EE-3 Carbine blaster) he used in “Empire Strikes Back” is on sale. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it has a pre-sale price of 462k to 924k price tag.

There most certainly will be a lot of money thrown in the direction of the blaster. I can’t imagine how many old, die-hard fans will seek to buy it. Perhaps Elon Musk attempts to purchase it. He said the “Empire Strikes Back” was the first movie that he’s ever seen.

If a wealthy person seeks to acquire a million dollar car, they should consider buying something much cooler with the blaster.

Boba Fett had a brief appearance in “Return of The Jedi”. Sadly, he wasn’t much of a fighter in the film. Many people believe he was killed by Sarlacc Pit, but that wasn’t the case. He was still alive and showcased in the show “The Book of Boba Fett”. The show was liked by 84% of Google users, which is admirable.

I honestly think the Boba Fett blaster is cooler than a typical gun, even if the blaster doesn’t shoot out lasers. I would like to see the blaster land in the arms of a Star Wars fan who will showcase it nicely and preserve it properly. I don’t want to see a dotcom billionaire have it stored away in the crowded attic or overly filled basement.

Was there Redwoods in Star Wars?

Was there actually Redwoods in Star Wars?

By: Jake Rajala

The Redwoods is home to some of the most beautiful trees on planet Earth. Sequoia National Park is the place to see the biggest and tallest trees. You could still catch them elsewhere, but the hotspot is Sequoia. Some of the trees in the Redwoods are around for 2k years! Hyperion is the tallest tree. It’s kept away from visitors, however. It’s hard to blame the services for the Hyperion to not trust us at using caution toward the tree, as we’ve failed to protect the environment of our country.

With that all said, an intriguing question clouds over Redwoods: Do we see the trees on TV? Well, you are in luck! Star Wars used Redwoods. Yes, they did! For Return of the Jedi, Cheatham Grove, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park is the official name of the section they used. Luke and Leia’s speeder chase was used in the piece. The warm and cuddly Ewoks also made homes out of Redwood trees. It was genius for Star Wars to use a national, outdoor gem for their film in 1983.

Star Wars wasn’t the only hit film to be featured in Redwoods. Rise of The Planet of The Apes (2011) had its moments in Muir Woods. It made sense for apes to climb to the top, which showed their dominance and view of the tall trees that go on for many miles.

California is home to the most popular and biggest Redwood trees. However, the trees aren’t exclusive to Cali. Oregon is also home to some Redwood trees. Yes, you read that correctly. Portland has a beautiful combination of trees and city.

As a young punk that went to the Redwoods and hugged the tree, I highly recommend visiting it. If you want to expand your horizons on the west coast or San Francisco and go outdoors, It would be wise to check out these majestic trees.

Star Wars and Elon Musk

Star Wars and Elon Musk outlook

By: Jake Rajala

The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, has been influenced by Star Wars. He told Ted Cruz that “Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back” was the first film that he watched in theaters. I loved the first movie feeling. The first film that I watched in theaters was none other than “The Dark Knight Rises”. After the film, I was so inspired and filled with bliss, that I went for a run around the block. It may sound blasphemous to say it, but I liked the film more than “The Dark Knight”, likely due to seeing it in theater before watching “The Dark Knight”.

So, is Musk simply a normal fan of Star Wars? Well, there’s to it. He named his Falcons rockets after the Millennium Falcon. If he fails, at least he publicly made a fine gesture to Star Wars.

He has also done some pretty cool stuff with his business, outside of Star Wars. He sent a Tesla Roadster to space with a mannequin named “Starman”.

So, things may going south with Elon’s obsession over Star Wars. He stated that the Lucasfilm President is “more deadly” than the Death Star.

I don’t believe he disagrees with all of Star Wars. Besides watching and naming his toys over Star Wars, he hung out with George Lucas at a party. Lucas may have made a mistake selling Star Wars to Disney. I wouldn’t be surprised if Musk tried to get his hands into creating some Star Wars material. After all, he surprised us all with his acquistion of Twitter.

He loves watching Star Wars: Bad Batch with Lil Baby X. The show has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 88%. This adds more speculation that he wants to be a part of it.

Why Chirrut Imwe is one of the coolest Star Wars characters

Chirrut Imwe is an underrated character

By: Jake Rajala

We all know the main characters in Rogue One, such as Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso, and Orson Krennic. However, let’s not forget about other popular figures. The one that comes to mind is Chirrut Imwe in my opinion. He’s incredibly gifted with a staff in battle, as he is also blind and uses it to help him walk. He took down several Storm Troopers at one point. However, he’s also wise and able to tap into the force. He is a wannabe Jedi, but I believe he still is a cunning warrior and an intense rebel until the end. Of course, his sidekick was none other than Baze Malbus. He saved Chirrut once, which is what friends do.

The fact that he is blind and able to fight at a superior level, makes it all the more impressive. In real life, Kodi Lee is blind and autistic. When he started playing the piano, everybody was blown away.

The best part about Cirrut wasn’t his fight against any single strorm trooper. Rather, he sacrificed himself to look into the imperial archives and get the plans to Jyn and Andor. It was a very passionate moment. He spoke a lot about being “one with the force”.

This rightfully pressured his partner to come out of the shadows and fight even harder.

It’s hard to not admire the humble character of Cirrut. He is sort of the opposite of the rugged Han Solo. Obviously, he is the last person to switch to the dark side. He’s very spiritual. He is the kind version of Count Dooku.

If anyone was to get a tattoo of a prolific Star Wars character, don’t look beyond the possibility of putting a fresh Circutt tat ont he bicep. He is a part of the most underrated Star Wars films, Rogue One.

What to take away from The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer

The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer

By: Jake Rajala

It’s impossible to not love the show, “The Mandalorian”. The Mandalorian (played by Pedro Pascal) is the lead character, while his bubbly companion, Grogu, seeks adventure in a “Mad Max” like wasteland, after the galactic empire perished. Let’s not forget Luke Skywalker even made an appearance in the show.

The Mandalorian show garnered a 90% Rotten Tomatoes score, and 94% of Google users admired it.

So, why am I bringing up the show and its characters. Well, there just happens to be an upcoming film, “The Mandalorian and Grogu” and it’s set to be released on May 22nd of 2026. So, please watch the trailer below.

As said in the film’s trailer, “Impressive”. That’s one word to describe the movie trailer. There is a lot of flying and dangerous escapes, just as we saw Grogu swim for his life. We even witnessed different climates, such as a snowy cliffside and a yucky sewer. There was even a “Hut”, which can’t be Jabba the Hut, as he died.

This piece of work has sky-high expectations. We all need this film to get the sour taste out of our mouths, as “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” garnered an 51% Rotten Tomatoes score and 69% of Google users enjoyed it.

Star Wars can’t follow in the footsteps of Marvel by having quality films 50% of the time. The last Star Wars film needs to be a one-off. Of course, there were arguably a couple of pedestrian films in the early 21st century, too.

The only problem I have with the trailer is that I want to see a lightsaber. I don’t even care if it’s a red saber, as any color will give me goosebumps. I also would have enjoyed seeing more emotion shown in the trailer. After all, this is Star Wars, and we’ve waited since 2019 to grab popcorn and enjoy the franchise launched by George Lucas.

5 reasons we love The Acolyte

Reflecting on The Acolyte

By: Jake Rajala

The Acolyte is arguably the most complex piece of Star Wars work. It has a Rotten Tomatoes score 79%, yet only 33% of Google users admire the project. It’s mind-boggling to say the least. I can safely say that I watched the entire piece and really enjoyed it. I would even say that I enjoyed it more than “Ahsoka”, “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, and “The Book of Boba Fett”. With that said, I’m going to take a deep dive and unfold five reasons why we love The Acolyte.

I warn you that there will be spoilers in this article. Use caution at your own risk.

  • Characters

It’s hard not to love the effort and versatility of the actors in the show. Manny Jacinto, Amanda Stenberg, Dafne Keen, and Lee Jung-jae are the main actors. Manny could be noticed for his prior role in “Top Gun Maverick”. Amanda could be remembered for her sweet role in “The Hunger Games”. Of course, there was only one Amanda in the work, despite her having a twin in the show.

  • Twist

I absolutely loved the twist in the show. It was one of my favorite twists among all of Star Wars projects. Of course, I’m talking about when Osha turns and kills Master Sol, who was one of the most powerful Jedi in Star Wars. It was very tragic and deep. This happened due to Sol telling Osha he killed her mother. The biggest twist has to be when Darth Vader tells Luke that he is his father.

  • Bond between Sisters

The sisters have an impressive bond in the piece. I really disagree with their motives, but it’s nice to see a bond in Star Wars that’s on the dark side. We are accustomed to seeing Luke and Leia. I like to see how powerful evil siblings can be. Perhaps the murder of Sol can be a one-off.

  • Evil one

Kylo Ren, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, and the list of cool villains go on and on. The sheer power of force and training from the evil figure (Qmir) in the piece is astonishing. He killed many people, despite being alone. The last time I saw a wretched character slaughter many Jedi at once was Darth Sidious in “Revenge of the Sith”.

  • Forest

There is something beautiful about a forest in Star Wars. For some reason, forests and light sabers tend to go well together. It doesn’t have to be “The Red Woods”, too. The last fight was pictured in a dark forest. Rey’s first fight against Ben Solo was in a forest. We all know “Return of The Jedi” was in a forest, too. Yoda’s training for Luke was in a swamp.

The Acolyte’s second season was very sadly cancelled. I hope there will be a strong push for Star Wars fans to get the second season aired, as much as the Star Wars world wants “The Hunt for Ben Solo” to be on the big screen.
