What is up with the Eagles QB situation?

Reflecting on the Eagles QB group

By: Jake Rajala

There is no secret: the Philadelphia Eagles need to improve their quarterback room. Tanner McKee is their starter right now. He is 0-3 and he’s thrown two touchdowns to two interceptions. The Eagles mine as well copy the Tampa Bay Buccaneers formula and run the ball every play, if McKee is their QB.

The Eagles QB group should welcome a new user. The question is: Who could possibly be the right addition? Yes, Michael Vick and Donovan McNabb are off the table.

There are a few options. I”d love to see Taysom Hill join the Eagles as a QB. He reminds me a lot of Jalen Hurts, with his size, speed, and arm strength. I’d also like to see who can squat more: Hill or Saquon Barkley?

Drew Brees has his gold jacket. Hence, he can return to the league and not lose his place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Brees may have the same arm strength as a JV quarterback right now, but he can still make a lot of short passes and manage the game. Jalen Hurts also has the tush push and Brees is a pro at jumping over the pile with the football to score.

Don’t get me wrong, the Eagles have their true franchise QB in Jalen Hurts. He won a Super Bowl and was also Super Bowl MVP. He is only 28 years old, too. His presence may have been why Nick Sirianni was crying right before Super Bowl LVII. After all, Hurts is a magician and can do it all.
