Is there karate in VR?

What to expect from Karate in VR

Karate is an exercise that allows an average Joe to knock down a Goliath-like opponent. Bruce Lee is one of the gods in the karate world. He nicely showed passion in a way that inspired millions to conquer anything in their life. Of course, there is also “Karate Kid”, Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, and Pat Morita – which has surely made an infinite amount of wannabe Karate heroes. With that said, it’s indisputable that Karate has flourished in culture in the West.

However, it’s less certain if karate has hitched a ride with the future of entertainment: virtual reality. There is “Chaotic Dojo”, “Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu”, and “Crazy Kung Fu”. The reviews for Chaotic Dojo are like a ghost town. Nonetheless, the Meta Store has pitched in their opinion on the intense game. They said there are different fighting styles and self-defense is also learned. The Meta store has given the game a modest score of 4/5 stars!

Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu isn’t anything to disrespect, as well. The user gets to utilize karate and straight-up jabbing against many different types of foes in many unique arenas — contrary to other karate games. The reviews for the game are quite impressive — as the Meta store handed the game 4.7/5 stars and Steam gave the game 9/10 stars.

Crazy Kung Fu is also worth reflecting on. The user can jab and hit fake targets — which can transition nicely to real life. There can also be fake targets that aim to hit the player back! Similar to Dragon Fist, this game garnered a 9/10 Steam rating and a 4.7/5 Meta rating.

This area of games will certainly make the player sweat more than a game that allows the user to use a gun to take down their enemy. There is also lots of potential to incorporate karate with supernatural elements. Hopefully, the karate games for VR are just scratching the surface!
