Lions vs Patriots in Germany

Lions vs Patriots outlook

By: Jake Rajala

The reigning AFC Champions (who got some help with the Bo Nix injury) New England Patriots square off against a Detroit Lions squad that went on the golf course early last season. They will battle in Munich, Germany in Week 10. The Lions deserved to miss the playoffs, as J.J. McCarthy and the Vikings swept them. Yes, I’m talking about the same Vikings QB that threw less than half touchdowns (11) as the QB (Sam Darnold) that he replaced last season. Darnold threw 25 touchdowns last season.

It shouldn’t be too difficult for the Pats to tear down this wall the Lions defense. They finished 22nd in PPG allowed. They also finished 22nd in takeaways. Those are the two most vital categories. Sure, they had someone by the name of Aidan Hutchinson and he made the Lions a Top 5 defense in sacks. Nonetheless, this didn’t only stop the Vikings from sweeping them, but the Packers also had their way with them, as they swept the Lions. It almost look like Aaron Rodgers was back on the Packers, as he is 19-8 against them.

Beer is quite relevant in Germany. Sadly, beer doesn’t fit in well with the Lions or Patriots. Hopefully, the Buffalo Bills can play drink and break some tables in Germany in 2027.

Dan Campbell (Lions head coach) and Mike Vrabel (Patriots head coach) are two guys that look like they don’t skip chest day. They always have a lot of tenancity. They will have to energize their teams to be prepared physcially and mentally for the overseas game.

The rise of Mike Vrabel

Outlook on Mike Vrabel

By: Jake Rajala

Mike Vrabel, who looks like your local gym teacher, has led the New England Patriots back to the Super Bowl. He showed that the Pats didn’t need cheating, I mean talent and brains to reach the big dance.

Vrabel once played for the Pats, let it be known. He was even first team All-Pro in 2007! Vrabel even played while Josh McDaniels was the OC for the team.

Vrabel was left to die on the Tennessee Titans. All he had was Derrick Henry (who may be the same size as him), who could dominate on offense. He went 54-45 in his Titans tenure. Let it be known that he had to work with Ryan Tannehill for five of the seasons. Yes, that’s the same QB that had one winning season in Miami. He could also be known as the “second” best Texas A and M QB of the 21st century.

I believe the Pats are legit with Vrabel, but I don’t believe they will be a dynasty if they win the Super Bowl. After all, they barely beat Jarrett Stidham. Jarrett was once a Patriots QB. Apparently his knowledge of the Pats couldn’t help his team score more than 7 points in the biggest game of the season. Drew Brees must have had a serious reason to stay in retirement.

I don’t foresee the Pats winning this Super Bowl by coming back from a 28-3 score, as the Hawks have the number one scoring defense. I also don’t believe they can win by scoring 13 points. The Hawks are far too explosive with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, and Cooper Kupp. If the Hawks can beat the number one MVP candidate in Stafford, they should feel comfortable about edging out the second best MVP candidate (Drake Maye).
