10 interesting facts about Michael Fassbender

Cool facts about Michael Fassbender

By: Jake Rajala

Michael Fassbender is the most underrated actor (in entertainment) in my opinion. He’s been an authentic, intense, and bright gem in the following films: X-Men, Steve Jobs, Prometheus, Inglorious Bastards, Assassins Creed, and Slow West. Fassbender has arguably been at his best in his role as the powerful, brutal, and extremist Magneto in X-Men. With that stated, I’m going to untwine 10 fascinating facts about Michael Fassbender.

  • Fassbender is married to Alicia Vikander

Fassbender was a bit of a late bloomer with his love life, but it was clear that his patience paid off. He got married to Alicia Vikander in 2017 at the age of 40. Vikander is well-known for her role in Ex Machina, Jason Bourne, The Light Between Oceans (where she met the other main actor in Fassbender), and The Danish Girl. She is 12 years younger than Fassbender, but it’s clear that are both emotionally mature and gifted individuals. They both share a one-year-old son, as well.

  • Fassbender is a race car driver

Fassbender flexed his uniqueness (and rage) with his push in Le Mans. It should be noted that he’s admitted that racing was his first dream. He was a part of the Porsche championship and then with the Le Mans series in 2020. The rangy actor was also even involved in a scary crash in 24 hours of Le Mans qualifying. Hopefully, he can follow Matt Damon and Christian Bale in playing a future role in a racing movie.

  • He has been phenomenal in the Alien series

As previously mentioned, Fassbender is featured in the Alien series. He plays David – who is a robot helping the humans. Fassbender is versatile, smooth-talking, and on-the-dot, in the role of David. He plays David in Prometheus and Walter in Alien Covenant. He is quite unpredictable in Alien Covenant, to say the least. Prometheus obtained a 73% Rotten Tomatoes score and 84% of Google users liked the movie. Covenant snatched a lesser impressive RT score (65).

  • Fassbender is an INFJ personality type

As a Michael Fassbender stan and INFJ personality type myself, I really believe he is an INFJ. He’s been pegged as an INFJ and he’s also been rumored to be many other MBTIs – which could explain his INFJ versatility. INFJ stands for introverted, intuitive, feeling, and judgment. The INFJ personality type is a true ambivert. It’s also a very intense and honestly weird personality type. Other famous INFJs include Gandhi, Carl Jung (who is also played by Fassbender in a Dangerous Method), JK Rowling, and Adrien Brody.

  • 300

Fassbender may not be a lead character in 300, but he certainly was a bright addition to the epic 300 film. The spartan movie features Gerald Butler as Leonidas – as he leads 300 brave Spartan warriors into battle. Fassbender, who was 26 years old at the time, plays Stelios in the film. The film only garnered a 61% Rotten Tomatoes score, but it was really an underrated gem in 2006.

  • Fassbender was on another level in Steve Jobs

Fassbender was constantly witty and upbeat in his lead role as Steve Jobs. Jobs garnered an impressive 85% Rotten Tomatoes score, too. The Jobs movie was blatantly marvelous as it was well-directed by Danny Boyle and it also yielded superb cinematography.

Although, Fassbender didn’t enjoy his 16-hour work slate that was often demanded by Boyle. Nonetheless, he (w/ help from advice from his dad) stuck with the highly valuable role.

  • Best supporting actor

Fassbender won the best supporting actor for his role as the wicked slave owner in 12 years as a slave. He even won his first academy award nomination in 2012 for best supporting actor in the movie.

  • Born in Heidelberg, Germany

Fassbender was born in Heidelberg, Germany on April 2nd, 1977. He’s been involved with German culture in a few different ways in his films. Jackson Browne, Necar Zadegan, and Ian Harding are also from the same town in Germany. He’s also fluent in German and Spanish.

  • Fassbender and James McAvoy are best pals

Fassbender (who plays Magneto) and McAvoy (who plays Charles Xavier) aren’t only best pals in X-Men, as they often engage in chess warfare. But, they are also very close friends off the camera.

It’s also a fitting time to portray the last chess dual between the fantastic duo.

  • Frank

Fassbender’s face wasn’t shown in Frank (as the main character always wears a fake head), but his character and high verbal IQ were present in the film. The musical comedy even obtained a very favorable score from Rotten Tomatoes: 92%. It was directed by Lenny Abrahamson, who also directed “Room”, “The Little Stranger”, and “Garage”.

10 facts about Benedict Cumberbatch

Cool facts about Benedict Cumberbatch

By: Jake Rajala

Benedict Cumberbatch has been one of the very best actors over the past decade. In particular, he’s been a Marvel sensation – as he starred in Doctor Strange, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse, and many other Avengers movies. His work in Doctor Strange is arguably the biggest reason why the film ousted a very impressive 89% Rotten Tomatoes score & 85% of Google Users liked the movie. With that enunciated, I’m going to reminisce about the real-life magic of Cumberbatch and untwine 10 fascinating facts about him.

  • The Power of the Dog

The first icebreaker with Benedict has to be his most recent work in the Power of the Dog – as he was even nominated for best actor at the Academy Awards in 2022 for the 2021 film. A selfish Rancher (played by Benedict) is incapable of respecting his brother, his brother’s wife, and his brother’s kid, as he consistently unveils abuse toward them. Eventually, Peter/his nephew (played by Kodi Smit-McPhee) seeks his revenge against his uncle. The film received extremely admirable reviews – as Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a 94% score.

  • Teacher in Tibet

It’s clear that Benedict really gained wisdom as a young lad when he traveled to Tibet to teach English at a monastery during his years at the University of Manchester. He even connected with Buddhism at a Tibetan monastery in Darjeeling. He even considers himself Buddhist at this moment. George Lucas and Steve Jobs also practiced Buddhism.

  • The Imitation Game

Cumberbatch’s most underrated gem is undoubtedly the Imitation Game and it’s still an extremely fantastic piece of work. The Imitation Game follows Alan Turing (played by Cumberbatch) and his mission to crack Nazi codes (which includes the mighty Enigma). The film also depicts Turing with Aspergers syndrome. A 90% Rotten Tomatoes score was given to the film and 92% of Google Users enjoyed it, as well.

  • Cumberbatch is an INFJ personality type

Cumberbatch is an INFJ personality type – which shouldn’t be a surprise to Marvel and Benedict fans. INFJ stands for Introverted, intuition, feeling, and judgement. INFJ is the rarest personality type in the world. It should be noted that Michael Fassbender (aka Magneto) and Zoe Saldana (who plays Gamora) are both INFJ personality types, as well.

  • Sherlock

Before Robert Downey Jr. predicted the moves of opponents as Sherlock Holmes, Benedict Cumberbatch was Sherlock Holmes. He played Holmes in “Sherlock (2010)” alongside Martin Freeman (who played John H. Watts). 95% of Google Users liked the Benedict version of Sherlock.

  • He has a rare condition called Heterochromia Iridis

Benedict has a biological gift – also known as Heterochromia Iridis. It means that one eye possesses a different color than the other eye. It can be hard to notice the difference from afar, but things become more clear front and center.

  • He was born in London, England

Benedict was born in “The Big Smoke”, otherwise known as London, England. He was born on July 19th, 1976. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Tilda Swinton (Witch in Narnia), and many others were born in London.

  • The Grinch (2018)

Let’s not forget that Benedict has a ton of holiday spirit – as he starred in The Grinch as the Grinch. The Christmas movie that was distributed by Universal Pictures was an enjoyable movie – largely from the intensity of Benedict.

  • The Courier

Benedict does a fantastic job in The Courier (2021) – as Greville Wynne (a British businessman that was recruited into the Cold war by the US and the British). The garnered favorable reviews w/ Rotten Tomatoes giving it an 85% score and 83% of Google users liking the film.

  • He is married to Sophie Hunter

His wife is Sophie Hunter, who is an English theatre director. They were actually friends for 17 years before getting engaged. They share three kids together (Hal, Christopher, and Finn).

10 interesting facts about Will Smith

Latest facts about Will Smith

By: Jake Rajala

Will Smith is one of the most diverse, uncancelable faces in Hollywood. Smith has had an authentic, rocky ride from the bottom to the top. He has flexed his dominance in movies, TV Shows, and music. With that enunciated, I’m going to break down the magic of Smith.

10. Family

Let’s be honest, Will Smith has a powerful and picture-perfect family. Will Smith and his son, Jaden, shined in Pursuit of Happyness together. The movie was liked by 93% of Google users & IMDb gave it a score of 8/10. Jaden and Will also starred in “After Earth” together. Jaden’s top performance arguably came in Karate Kid (2010) — where he starred with Jackie Chan! Will also has a daughter with a gift for music named Willow. Willow’s top songs are “Wait a Minute”, “Whip My Hair”, and “Time Machine”. Of course, Will’s wife, Jada, has been portrayed on the big screen. She was featured in “Ali” with Will and she’s been showcased in “The Matrix”.

9. Fresh Prince of Bel Air

Smith first won our hearts w/ his role in Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Smith is shown in the NBC sitcom as Will’s TV mom sends him away from Philadelphia to live with his wealthy uncle and aunt in Bel Air. He rocked the world in the show alongside Carlton Banks, Philip Banks, and Hilary Banks in Los Angeles. Quincy Jones, who was the executive producer, went with a risk by using the young Will in 1990. Jeff Pollack and Susan Borowitz are the two writers of the film. It’s safe to say the show with a catchy theme dazzled audiences — as a sky-high 95% of Google users admired the show!

8. Bad Boys

It would be a shame to forget Will’s role in Bad Boys — which is a film in 1995 about him and Martin Lawrence acting as Miami Dade police officers. There is quite the thrill behind the film that the director of the film, Michael Bay, orchestrated Bad Boys 2, Bad Boys for Life, and another Bad Boys film set to hit theaters in 2024. It’s worth noting that Vanessa Hudgens is in Bad Boys 2 and Gabrielle Union is in Bad Boys for Life.

7. Welcome to Earth

Smith’s ability to appeal to people and animals of different sorts is really shown in “Welcome to Earth”. This Disney + show follows him visiting different parts of the globe — such as the Namibia desert and descending 3,000+ feet into the ocean. The show blew critics away so much that it scored a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. Sadly, there are only six episodes of one season of Welcome to Earth right now. On a side note, it’s worth keeping up with Gordon Ramsey’s “cooking visits” around the globe.

6. ENFP

Smith’s personality type is rumored to be “ENFP” — which stands for extroverted, intuitive, feeling, and perceiving. ENFPs make up 8.2% of the population, so they’re slightly less common than most personality types. ENFPs are compatible with INFJ, INFP, and ENFJ! Other famous ENFPs are Walt Disney, Robin Williams, Steve Jobs, John Lennon, and Robert Downey Jr.

5. Vipassana

As previously noted, Smith is a bit of a free-spirit. In his biography, “Will”, talks about doing a Vipassana retreat. He can’t use technology for 10 days or be in touch with anyone. He talked about the first time he meditated and that it made him cry. During the retreat, he talks about reading a whole book in one day for the first time in his life. He then stated that he would go on to read 100+ books in the next year.

4. Scientology

There is no secret that Scientology has a presence in LA and that celebrities have been involved in the cult. Tom Cruise, who has been famous for his role in Top Gun, is a key member of Scientology. Furthermore, John Travolta has publicly made his support for the ascending church. With that said, Will and his family are not a member of Scientology, according to “The New York Post”. The church may welcome millions of new members each year, but the Smiths are not included in that picture.

3. Slap

Smith is not a Saint, contrary to fans who began getting in his corner in the 90s. He was involved in an aggravated assault charge in 1989. The victim was nearly left blind in the incident. He recalls fellow people in jail asking for his autograph. Thankfully, Smith showed his empathetic and big-hearted side for 30-plus years after the incident. Unfortunately, his aggression came back to bite him at the Oscars in 2022 – when he struck Chris Rock — after Rock made a joke about Will’s wife. Will properly apologized to Rock and his audience after the assault. Rock was offered to Academy Awards last year, but he turned it down.

2. King Richard

Smith may have messed up w/ his impulsive decision to slap Rock. However, it doesn’t change the fact that he slapped Rock after his Oscar-winning performance in King Richard. King Richard is Smith’s lone Oscar victory (despite being nominated four times). In the 2021 movie, Smith plays the role of Richard Williams, who is the father of Sabrina and Reneeka. In the film — Richard is hell-bent on making his two daughters beat the odds and become star Tennis players. Of course, Serena is widely dubbed as the greatest female tennis player of all time, while Venus is regarded as a Top-10 female tennis player of all time. The film directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green warranted a potent 90% RT score!

1. Emancipation

Smith’s comeback movie is unequivocally “Emancipation” and it arrived in December of 2022. The movie portrayed Smith as a slave who escapes a plantation in Louisiana and he must get north to reach freedom. The gruesome, yet inspirational movie is on Apple TV and it’s more than worth the watch. It’s not as daunting as the slave film, “12 A respectable 82% of Google users admired the film directed by Antoine Fuqua!

  • Best songs ranked

5. Who Knew

This banger showcases her at a county fair in the music video. Pink’s voice has sorrow and pain in the song. The song arrived in 2006, also known as the year Saddam was hanged. Glenn Rowley from Billboard dubs Who Knew as Pink’s best song!

4. Just Give Me a Reason

“Just Give Me a Reason” has the tune of a hopeless romantic. Yet, it finds time to be more upbeat than “Who Knew”. The song was released in 2012, also known as the year that Earth was supposed to come to an end.

3. Try

This song grabs the emotion better than every other song. It even sounds like Pink is in pain grasping for relief. The song from 2012 showcased Pink having an up-and-down relationship with an abusive male.

2. What About Us

Rage is nicely depicted in “What About Us”. Pink pleads for hope and logic in the song. There is also sincere intimacy in the song that came out in 2017!

  1. Walk Me Home

The sounds in “Walk Me Home” have a better tune than any other Pink video in my opinion. You can also feel the rage from Pink in this song. The song was introduced in 2019!

  • Birthplace

Pink was born in none other than Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Doylestown has a mere population of 8,250 people. Timothy Stack and Jody Lee Lipes are also from Doylestown.

“It takes a small town to keep you humble” – Bess Streeter Aldrich

  • Family

Pink had a somewhat chaotic upbringing. Her father, James, was an insurance salesman. His mother, Judith, was a nurse. At 10 years old, Pink’s parents got divorced. Of course, 41% of marriages end in divorce, according to “Wilkinson and Finkbeiner”. Pink has been blessed with a stable and loving home. Her husband, Carey Hart, is a once professional motorcycler. The pair enjoys two kids, Willow and Jameson, together.

  • Depression

It’s worth noting that Pink is human and she has had issues with her well-being. She has been vocal about having depression. Dan Reynolds, who is the lead singer of Imagine Dragons, also has suffered from depression. It should be noted that 3.8% of the US population suffers from depression. More than 1 in 5 people live with a mental illness.

“We are all role models to someone in this world, and we can all have an impact for good”. – Tony Dungy

  • Dear Mr. President

Pink hasn’t been shy with her view of humanitarian views. She wrote a song named “Dear Mr. President” in 2006 where she criticized former President George Bush for opposing gay marriage. Thankfully, society has evolved enough to allow people to love one another — regardless of their gender.

  • Influences

Pink, who gives her heart to every song, is surely motivated by the superior work that was laid out before her. Well, let it be known that she was inspired by Madonna and Janis Joplin. She joked that as a kid she thought she was Madonna’s daughter and that she thought she was adopted. Unfortunately, Jonis had a short journey in life – as she passed away in 1970 in Hollywood.

Outlook:

Pink is certainly not done singing. She sang at the Democratic National Convention in August of 2024. She has pondered the idea of having residency in Las Vegas, so she doesn’t have to travel.

10 interesting facts about James Gunn

Cool facts about James Gunn

By: Jake Rajala

The talented and utterly authentic James Gunn has orchestrated numerous brilliant Marvel movies over the past decade. His first baby was Guardians of the Galaxy (which unveiled a 92% Rotten Tomatoes score) – it was released in 2014. Since his first brilliant film was released, his handprints have been on Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (which ousted an 85% RT score) and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (which will be released in 2013). With that enunciated, I’m going to untwine five interesting facts about the mind behind “Groot”.

  1. He directed “The Suicide Squad (2021)”

Gunn hasn’t only made monster motion pictures in the Marvel verse, but he has also created very fascinating movies outside of the Marvel niche. For instance, he constructed the juggernaut movie, “The Suicide Squad”, which was released in 2021 (which was basically a more impressive, non-remake, or non-sequel version of “The Suicide Squad (2016)”. It would be an understatement to say the latest “The Suicide Squad” film – also known as a movie I had to watch twice in the TCL Chinese Theatre, was amazing. It’s an action (dark) comedy film and it’s extremely entertaining. It was also a heart-warming film – which could be best reflected by the Rat Catcher scene towards the back of the movie. It should also be noted that Peacemaker, also known as John Cena, was yet another brilliant character designed by the eccentric James Gunn. The film garnered a very impressive 90% Rotten Tomatoes score. The 2021 movie by the director of Guardians of the Galaxy may be seen as a tad weird to a lot of people (which shouldn’t be a surprise), but if you love Gunn’s corkiness, you should feel comfortable with the diverse characters and graphics in the 2 hour and 12-minute film.

  1. He’s the director of “Peacemaker”

The Peacemaker (played by John Cena) is such an appealing character that it was only fitting that an entire TV series was crafted in his honor. Peacemaker follows the path of Peacemaker leaving his troubled and somewhat complex past behind and joining A.R.G.U.S on Project Butterly. He and his new team must find and eliminate parasitic butterfly-like beings that have possessed bodies across the planet. Peacemaker, who has been described as “a piece of s**t” by Gunn, is on a mission to prove he has good in him. The show has garnered very positive reviews —- as Rotten Tomatoes gave the show a 94% score and 91% of Google Users liked the film.

  1. He’s engaged to Jennifer Holland

The director of “The Suicide Squad” (Gunn) and an actress in the film (Jennifer Holland) are currently engaged. Per Syfy, Holland stated, “I just told him my life story. We spent like 7 hours together and that’s it. That’s how it started.”. She has also been in American Pie Presents: The Book of Love. She may have a million fewer Twitter followers than Gunn, but they still really are a smart and intense match.

  1. He is an ENFJ personality type

Gunn has confirmed his unique personality – as he took the Myers-Brigg test and got ENFJ as a result. The ENFJ personality type stands for extroverted, intuitive, feeling, and judgment. ENFJ is the second rarest MBTI among men. Other famous ENFJs include Barack Obama, Drake, Tupac Shakur, Jennifer Lawrence, and Denzel Washington.

  1. He earned a masters degree from Columbia University

Gunn had a bit of a roller coaster journey in his college days. He was involved with the creation of political cartoons for St. Louis University and proceeded to graduate from the university. The ambitious creative had to take some time away to improve his mental health, but he eventually went to gain his masters degree from Columbia University. Other notable alumni from the university are Alexander Hamilton, Amelia Earnhart,  J.D. Salinger, and Julia Stiles.

  1. He was a co-writer for “Dawn of the Dead”

The horror movie “Dawn of the Dead” was really a hidden gem in the year 2004. It was directed by Zack Snyder with a screenplay by Gunn. The movie starred Sarah Polley, Kim Poirer, Ty Burrell, and Ving Rhames. The horror movie garnered a modest 76% Rotten Tomatoes score and 88% of Google users enjoyed the movie. Per Screen Rant, Gunn has stated that he loved the 2004 version so much that he doesn’t want to re-make it.

  1. Gunn was temporarily removed from the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 project

It should be stated that creativity can be seen as a double-edged sword. Gunn has so much passion for the world, but he still has his own flaws. He once had many old tweets dug that were filled with sexual jokes about boys. The genius at a low point sent out an apology to the world and many of his co-workers showed love and admiration for him, too. Eventually, he was given the keys back to the project by Disney and he was able to direct the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

  1. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri

Star-lord (played by Chris Pratt) once replied to a question about his father’s whereabouts in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, “He ain’t from Missouri. That’s all I know.” Star-Lord’s father may not be from Missouri, but Gunn certainly was born in Missouri. He’s from St. Louis, which is the second-biggest city in Missouri. It rests along the Missippi river and it’s also home to the Gateway Arch. Chuck Berry, Andy Cohen, and Maya Angelou were also born in the city.

  1. His brother is an actor

It’s obvious that entertainment is in the “Gunn” blood. James isn’t the only successful individual in the movie business in his family His brother, Sean, has appeared in many of James’s movies (such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, The Suicide Squad, and Guardians of the Galaxy 3. He was portrayed as “The Weasel” in the Suicide Squad. He was also cast in the latest Thor movie, Thor: Love and Thunder.

  1.  His first big screenplay was Scooby Doo

He wasn’t the director of Scooby Doo (2002), but he was the screenwriter for the adventurous film. The film only mustered out a 32% Rotten Tomatoes score, but 81% of Google Users admired the film. It was also clear that Gunn showed potential with his first screenplay. He would also be the screen-writer for Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.
